Have you ever wondered what it is like driving above the clouds? If so, let’s take a journey from the summit of Mount Evans down to Echo Lake. Pay close attention, there are steep drop-offs and wildlife to be on the watch for, particularly the marmots, they tend to be right on the edge of the road. Now sit back and enjoy the journey driving above the clouds.

A bit more about Mount Evans. Renowned for its breathtaking vistas, the Mount Evans Scenic Byway, the highest paved road in North America, winds its way to the summit, offering an awe-inspiring journey through the clouds. The mountain is encompassed by the Arapaho National Forest, providing a haven for various wildlife species, including bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and marmots. The summit features a wealth of alpine tundra and expansive views that stretch across the Continental Divide. Note: A ticketed reservation is required just before the Memorial Day holiday through Labor Day.
