Spring & Summer Adventure Plans 2024

As mentioned in our post last weekend about snowshoeing with my (Stella) new legs, we have many trips planned for Spring and Summer 2024! Typically, winter is when we do significant traveling, but since we were unable to, we are going all out for the upcoming warm months of this year. The first, and most exciting of them all, is our trip to Miami combined with an 8-day southern Caribbean cruise.

Last year we had a fabulous cruise on the Royal Caribbean Wonder of the Seas, the largest ship in the world – at that time. For this year, we tossed around the idea of going to Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort in Belize. Somehow, that plan changed to going on another cruise so that we could see multiple islands that we’ve talked about visiting. Additionally, we want to experience other cruise lines, so for our 2024 cruise, we are embarking on Carnival Horizon. We are sailing to Aruba, Curacao and both the north and south shores of the Dominican Republic. On each of these islands, we booked excursions that may challenge us both in different ways.

The cruise port is in Miami (last year it was in Port Canaveral), a place where Larry and I have never been. That being the case, we booked kayaking and snorkeling excursions in Biscayne National Park and John Pennekamp State Park (Key Largo), places we’ve been interested in exploring via water. Of course, we are also eager to indulge in the plethora of restaurants in Miami, particularly for fresh seafood.

For our other trips this Spring and Summer 2024, we are visiting some new places, some not-so-new places and some very familiar places, traveling with our Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX. Please see our itinerary below and stay tuned for posts about all of them.
