We purchased Anderson Hitches ~ EZ Blocks for our 2022 Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX 2108DS travel trailer. Prior to our purchase, we used the traditional orange stacking blocks. While the Anderson Hitches ~ EZ Blocks are a high-quality product, I am not convinced that they provide “enhanced” stability from other products, in our particular situation.
When we first used the EZ Blocks, we still noticed a bit of instability when walking around inside the FLX. The following day, and letting the FLX settle overnight, we tightened up the jacks by cinching them down against the EZ Blocks a bit more, which seemed to help. It is important to note that the primary reason for which we purchased these wasn’t necessarily to enhance stability because the orange blocks did just fine for that. Conversely, we bought these to prevent the need to extend the jacks as far down as we had to with the orange blocks. The theory goes, the less you need to deploy the stabilizing jacks the less sway you will feel in the trailer.
The benefit of using the orange blocks is that they stack nicely and can be stored in the accompanying bag, which does not take up much space. In comparison, the EZ Blocks are bulky and do not stack neatly. We put them in the back of the Tahoe when traveling, instead of the FLX cubby area, which isn’t a big deal for us but could be a space concern for others.
These EZ Blocks are solidly built and we have no quality issues with any of the Anderson products, as we also have the jack stand bucket (LOVE THIS). So the reason why I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is simply that we didn’t notice “enhanced” stability, which is the focal point of this product. But it did suit our needs for blocks that allow the stabilizing jacks to not have to extend as far.
It is important to mention that if you have been using wood or cinder blocks for your jacks, then you will love the convenience that the Anderson Blocks provide. No more splinters from the wood blocks and significantly lighter than a cinder block. The Andersen blocks would be a huge upgrade for folks in this situation!
